Young Authors Greenhouse is hiring Teaching Artists to lead writing workshops in-schools and at our writing center in the Portland neighborhood! This could be a one-time commitment or a multi-session project! Teaching Artists may follow existing curriculum or work with Young Authors Greenhouse staff to create exciting new programs.
The Details:
Teaching Artists will be paid $100 per hour of leading the program plus reimbursed $0.56/mile. If the Teaching Artists are designing a program, they will receive additional payment of $25 per session ($125 per program hour).
Teaching Artists must complete this application and then have an informal interview with our Program Director, Hannah Rose, to learn more about you, but also, for you to learn more about us!
If you are invited to join our Teaching Artist program, you will move on to the onboarding process:
Attend a Teaching Artist training
Complete two background checks
Submit a W9
Send us a headshot and bio for our website!
Once you are officially a Young Authors Greenhouse Teaching Artist (congratulations!), you will be kept in the loop of opportunities to lead workshops, social events, and continued learning opportunities. We also would love to hear your workshop dreams and we will do our best to make them happen!
