Young Authors Greenhouse is looking for an intern to shine light on our growing organization!

This intern will assist in overseeing our after-school tutoring program and writing room at Olmsted Academy South. This internship will give on-the-ground experience working with students and coordinating adult volunteers. The ideal candidate is a creative, flexible thinker with a deep interest in education and working with students; we are looking for someone with excellent communication skills, dependable organizational skills, experience working with people from diverse cultures, and a love of magic!


❧ Welcomes volunteer tutors and students each day

❧ Helps oversee tutoring program two days a week

❧ Assists in development of an organizational system to manage center activities

❧ Matches students with tutors

❧ Tracks student and tutor information, schedules, and attendance

❧ Participates in weekly meetings

❧ Writes a regular tutoring newsletter for the volunteers

❧ Compiles best student writing; formats writing into end-of-semester publication

❧ Works with Program Manager to develop creative writing prompts

The scoop:

❧ This internship is about 10-15 hours a week.

❧ The tutoring program will run on Mondays and Wednesdays, from 2:30-4:30, with additional administrative and prep tasks.

❧ While this internship is unpaid, we promise boundless joy and appreciation. Plus, you get to spend time in an enchanted-forest-themed room blooming with creative energy!
